About emspace & Kay Bachman

Kay is the founder of Tending the Now, a movement practice rooted in presence, empathy, and embodied wisdom. She is a skilled space-holder, facilitator, and educator who supports individuals and groups in deepening their connection to the core conversation of their lives — the one unfolding right now.
With a finely tuned sensitivity, Kay helps others gently grow the space between their inner stories and their identification with them, guiding with compassion, nondual spiritual awareness, and parts work. Her approach is grounded in decades of study and lived practice.
A lifelong student and teacher of Nonviolent Communication, Kay centers connection and empathy — for self, for others, and for the moment itself. Her background includes nearly 20 years as a children's educator and over 30 years of immersion in meditation, spiritual growth, and psychological healing. She brings a unique blend of insight, tenderness, and curiosity to her work with adults.
Every morning begins with her favorite ritual: a lovingly brewed matcha latte.

“When people come to speak to me, whatever they say, I am struck by a kind of incandescence in them, the “I“ whose predicate can be “love“ or “fear“ or “want,“ and who’s object can be “someone“ or “nothing“ and it won’t really matter, because the loveliness is just in the presence, shaped around “I“ like a flame on a wick, emanating itself in grief and guilt and joy and whatever else. But quick, and avid, and resourceful. To see this aspect of life is a privilege…”                                                                  ~Marilynne Robinson

* Please note: I am not a therapist, licensed or otherwise. While this work may be a wonderful supplement to work with a psychotherapist, it is not in any way intended as a replacement for that work.
